The Pego ECP APE 03 emergency safety button is used to completely secure the refrigerated/freezer compartment against unintentional trapping of a person in this compartment. A backlit button is located in the freezer compartment which, when activated by the trapped person, triggers an audible and light alarm on the control unit located outside the refrigerated compartment, thus summoning help. The control unit also allows a switching relay to activate or deactivate other devices such as lighting or refrigeration equipment, or to activate a remote alarm. The entire system has a backup power supply in case of power failure.
