Wifi thermostats represent a new development in residential temperature control. They offer the same standards as the usual popular thermostats, plus they can be easily and conveniently controlled from anywhere using a smartphone. Free Android or iPhone apps can be downloaded for Heatmiser or General Life WIFI thermostats.
The Heatmiser NEOstat WIFI thermostats allow you to control the temperature separately on individual floors or rooms thanks to the neoHub unit, which connects the individual thermostats via a wireless network. The neoHub unit is also used to connect all thermostats to the Internet.
Connecting thermostats to the intermet network has never been easier. It is not necessary to have a public IP address. The Heatmiser neoHub unit automatically connects to the Heatmiser communication hub. Your smartphones then communicate via this central hub. This service is provided by Heatmiser free of charge. Similarly, General Life thermostats use a cloud-based solution. Unlike Heatmiser thermostats, General Life thermostats do not use a neoHub central unit, but each thermostat connects directly to the internet via your home wi-fi network.
Heatmiser thermostats are available in a classic room version under the neoStat label, or also with a sensor on the neoStat-e underfloor heating cable. The system can also control DHW preparation using the neoStat-hw time programmer.
Attention. Both Heatmiser and General Life thermostats come with a new GEO Location feature. The system automatically detects the movement of individual household members (based on their smartphones) and when the last member leaves the home, the system automatically lowers the temperature. Conversely, when the first member of the household approaches the home (distance can be set) the system will automatically raise the temperature back to a comfortable level.
